The milkman has arrived.

We on this bright fall afternoon received an exceptional 1938 Diamond T 201S. It was a milk delivery truck that made her rounds on the North Shore for Harbottle’s Jersey products. The truck arrived in North Vancouver driven from Chicago by the owner’s son Jeff Harbottle in June, 1938. The truck served until Harbottle Dairy was sold in 1942, the truck continued her working career until about 1971 when she was saved.
The truck was bought in 1991 by the son Jeff Harbottle and began a frame up restoration. The truck at the time had a Ford engine, but in 1995 a period correct Diamond T QXD3 engine was found and placed into the’38 Diamond T. The truck was restored and donated to the North Vancouver Museum where she rested comfortably for many years. The North Vancouver Museum offered her to us as they needed room.
The 1938 Diamond T 201S Milk Truck is now in our Museum where she will be undertaking a mechanical inspection (she is fully drivable) as we plan to take her out on local Cloverdale parades. Come and see this fine specimen of local North Shore history. Complete with glass milk bottles like those you used to put out on the porch every morning.
